Betrayal

I went forth on this winter’s eve
To seek the one I love
And if you know me, you have to believe
It was sent from the Lord above

I trekked across town in the hard driving snow
Hoping for just one hour
To have her in my hand, never to let go
Seemed to me the ultimate power

I had waited all day, with a driving lust
Tonight would finally be the time
After the day I had had it seemed so just
Our moments together sublime

I entered the bar and took a seat
Instantly I knew something wasn’t right
The one I came for, wasn’t here to meet
The sign said “No Guinness, only Bud Light.”
