Victim of Ignorance
By: J. A. Stevens Slain lies the brave warrior no more immortal. Plain yet the symbol emblazoned on his breast. Insane was the battle that took our young soldier. Profane and evil, his great cause meaningless. What did he die for? What was his crime? Where cries his poor children now fatherless? When will we end this? When will it be over? Why has no answer save for meaningless. Weep for the young men dead for nothing. Keep them in your heart, they’ve passed the test. Deep as the ocean their bravery and honor. Sheep to the slaughter, war is meaningless. (12 Lines)
