Tiptoe Through the House
This poem was written for my poetry class.

Betsy slowly moving through the house,
creeping in and out of the rooms like a fox;
with untamed fur like a wild beast in the jungle,
on the hunt for something tasty to eat.

Betsy still roamed from corner to corner,
then she stops, stare, and sniff.
Betsy has prepared for the hunt,
she spots her delicious treat out in the open.

Taking a step one-by-one,
her feet marched to the beat of a drum.
then without a moment to spare,
she pounces like a trapeze almost in mid-air.

Betsy is victorious as she grazes her prize,
as if, she won a marathon for the high dive.
She mauled, minced, and then mangled her treat,
with a gleam in her eye, it must have been good to eat.

She purrs for her accomplishment,
Oh! What a day,
to think that was just an appetizer, until later this evening.
Betsy crawled in her bed and moaned in sigh of relief,
“Well done, Betsy” as she goes off to sleep.
