Silence of Winter in Connecticut
Quiet, quiet, is my morning walk since January arrived. As though nature is meditating on the New Year. The bird chatter has turned to a distant crow heard across the miles. The querulous squirrels are at rest in their nests of dry grass. It is time for a review of what is old and what will be new. Allowing for the gift of peaceful thoughts and resolutions. In God’s gallery of art this would be a perfect still life, Complete with frosty limbs unable to escape the cold. Two silent deer grazing behind a small country home. It appears, they too are enjoying the solitude. Amazing nature never disappoints, even in winter, quiet quiet.
