She said -

You'll never notice me
I'll sit here by the sink
I'll watch you paint and watch you sleep
I'll even watch you think -
I'll press your shirts
and wash your back -
I'll mend your favorite jeans
- listen while you tell your tales
and wander to your dreams
where I am you
and you are me -
the same (yet not so much)
as once we were a single flame
of destinies to touch
the place we know
as heaven -
let me move your chair (you see)
from where I was -
I knew you then
before you knew
of me

*Female*

He said -

On a cold night
I felt the warmth
Of you sleeping by my side.
I laid my hand
Gently
On your chest.
I felt your breath
I felt the life in your body
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Each breath a potential
Song,
Shout,
Whisper,
Promise,
Lie,
Secret,
Or declaration of love.
And as I lay there
Feeling the life in your body
I couldn't wait for sunrise,
Just to see what you would say.

*Male*

She said -

in the measure
of a moment -
silence swirls in cotton sheets
a place denied of words
a jealous moon
watches through the window
steals my breath away
I lie awake
and wonder
where you dream

*Female*

He said -

I dream of landscapes
That cannot be
Not without you.
I dream the structures of stories
Unfinished, unwritten
Until you have read my words.
I dream of an existence
In which reality
Is based on you.
I dream the dream
Of you.

*Male*

She said -

I dream
and there are worlds
still undiscovered
until I've found them
(mountains in your eyes)
tales we told and secrets
we surrendered to the wind -
you are there
and I am home
again

*Female*

He said -

We live,
We thrive,
We grow and explore
Here in our bed.
My fingers glide down your neck
Explore your mountains and valleys
While I listen to you whisper
The secrets of the earth
The secrets of your being
The stories of your life
Our lives,
Like exploring the world.
In our bed
You are my world.
And that is enough.
Enough to inspire
Worlds we've yet to create.

*Male*

She said -

whispers tell me
more than I could ever hope
believe -
the world you keep
wrapped up in a sigh
lingered I above your grail
and begged you tell again
of where you were
when first we said goodbye
it matters not
the ways we came
with memory to create
a destiny
from sand and stone (enough)
moments pass
and dare I not to ever
close these eyes
you breathe
and I am raptured
by your love

was said
there’ll be another time
I wonder if that’s true
when I will find you waiting here
when I shall come to you
when I will read
and you will write
our words will spill the same
how many lives may pass as none
to wonder why we came
you feel it now
I know it’s real – this longing in my soul
was made for words and words will come
how is that you know
I read it once – you taught me well
how could that ever be
another time – another bed -
a place of destiny
there are words
and there are words
that’s how I’m bound to you
as breath to breath
as earth to sun
I know this much is true
I’ll find you when
we touch
we love
we dream

I love that smile
it’s been a while
through times of disbelief
you knew me then
and now again -
the smell of burning leaves
would rivers know
the way to home -
will bring you back to me
