}Dear me, I have not kept promises to you so many times, but I am sure this time I will succeed. There are several things I want to change about myself, in order to make my life fuller and hopefully longer.

I have always said life is not just about quantity but quality as well. I need to get back on my feet after the bilateral knee surgery last year. I found myself giving into the pain and not doing the rehab as I should have. Therefore, that is my first goal. I will go to the gym each morning and divide my time between the pool and the fitness center.

As I write this letter I have already started the long journey to better health. I have been going to the gym for three weeks and already feel better and have lost seventeen pounds.

My other goal for the New Year is to be more aware of the money situation and put myself on a budget. Again I have already started this and have done somewhat well. I have had a few slips and gone back, but I pick myself up and start all over again.
As you know, money and taking care of it is not one of my best talents. This particular goal I feel will be the hardest. I will however triumph in the end, for I am a survivor and know that once I set my mind to something, I can, and usually do accomplish it.
These are not ones typical goals of losing weight or stop smoking but life changes that must be maintained if I am to have a happy and fulfilling rest of my life.
I know you will support me and will be there at my back through it all. I cherish the knowledge that I am not in this alone.
I will talk to you next year and in the meantime. Know I love you.
Just sign me “Me” and remember I choose life over excuses. In order to be the best me I can.
