WDC AND ME

On March 18 2002 I went to a club meeting that I was President of. Countrymom was the Secretary of the club. We had both been instrumental in forming the club in 1975.

After the meeting we were talking and she showed us a book of poetry that she had published titled "Love Julie". I was interested because I had written poetry most of my life. She went on telling me of a place on the Internet called Stories.Com where she wrote and thought I might be interested in.

When I got home from the Meeting I went to the site she had given me and was interested enough to cause me to join. I wrote my first poem that night. I wrote nearly every night here on what was then Stories.Com after that and soon was made a Preferred Author.

On the first day of January 2003 I created the Traditional Poetry Group along with a Contest Forum.
which is still active.

I left here in July of 2005 due to health issues that caused me to believe that I would no longer be doing anything on the Computer. I got good news shortly on that subject and returned to this great site in less than a month. Another member here had kept the Traditional Poetry Group while I was away and gave it back shortly after I returned. I started holding regular monthly contests and continued for eighty four consecutive months. I was reading and rating some fine poetry there for seven years, seeing some of the regular entrants improve unbelievably.

Due to health issues again I was just not giving the Traditional Group the time I should so I turned it over to my long time co-judge SHERRI G ♥ WDC ♥ ... but No! I am not planning on leaving this grand Site, not this time. I am planning on doing some reviewing and more poetry when I can get better inspired.

As of this date I have an appointment at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction in Vermont on the eleventh of this month and am scheduled for six more, two of which will be this month also, none of which should keep me long. So I should be able to spend time on this Site which is like a second home to me.

There are some of the best people I feel I know here, led by Two wonderful people, the Story master and the Story mistress.

It is my pleasure to be a small part of this ever growing site. In April I will have spent ten years of my life here. I say April to make up for time I was gone in 2005.
