The Muslim mother walked hurriedly along the dirt road with child in hand because she as everyone else in South America was in fear ot the coming doom. On her walk she came upon another Muslim mother with child, this one quite young, also seeking shelter from the coming doom.
"Come with me," said the older mother in her native tongue, "We'll find shelter in the village of San Miguel." They walked together a few miles and arrived in San Miguel just as the sun was giving off its final light. "Do you think we'll be safe here," the young mother asked as they reached the door of the others home. "Not here," she said, "It is not a safe place and has no lower area to rest." Hearing frightened voices they knocked on the doors of all the neighbors homes but no one would open. It seemed every available space was taken with villagers and outsiders seeking to hide from the coming doom, even her own home was crammed. The two mothers spotted a quiet shack accross the way and went to check it out. It was dark inside but they did find a large corrugated cardboard box, it was circular and maybe large enough to fit them all. "It is getting late," the older mother said, "We might as well settle up in here, if God is willing, this box will keep us safe." She helped the young mother into the box with the children and went to find some food, returning quickly with some bread and cookies in a sealed bag, it was all she could find. She got in the box which was a comfortable squeeze for all, and brought the lid over to seal themselves in. They wept and prayed for their might God to have mercy on them and their children as the sun did set one and everything went quiet. Even the creatures of the night were silent.
