a poem about the feeling of losing love
I feel the heat from the flames
The fire that burns in my soul
The pain of losing the one I loved
I’ll get over it, I am told.

My heart lays quiet in the stillness of night
But my mind goes with great speed
Someone to love and care for me
Is all I really need

I thought I had my life in place
My future accounted for
But I sit all alone with an empty heart
There’s no love for me anymore

How can the fire of passionate love
Be gone in a fleeting glance
And leave me here in the stillness again
Without a second chance
