The nine fold Prakriti is but nine fold Guna. The nine Gunas are:
(1) Tamasic - Tamas. (2)Tamasic - Rajas (3) Tamasic – Sattva. (4) Rajasic - Tamas (5)Rajasic - Raja (6) Rajasic- Sattva (7) Sattvic- Tamas (8) Sattvic – Rajas and (9) Sattvic- Sattva. Prakriti here refers to our inner nature or Gunas and I am expressing the lowest of our inner nature i e Tamasic and highest of our inner nature that is Sattvic..and Rajasic is our active nature and the interaction between them in nine different categories using nine different querries and what are the external observations as well.. The first three are of Tamasic group, the second three are of Rajasic group, and the last three are of Sattvic group. Intellectual being and becoming both have two aspects viz, universal and individual. Likewise, each of the nine folds Prakriti has two aspects viz universal and individual. Out of the above nine fold Prakriti (Guna) pertaining to the intellectual becoming of individual aspects, nine pivotal(principle)questions or asking(queries, interrogations or investigations)spring up in succession. Nine consecutive queries are where, which, what, when, how, why, whom, whose, who. All other interrogations of life are included within the above nine fold query. Since all kinds of asking are the outcome of intellectual becoming, they have their determining solutions in the supreme self knowledge alone i.e. they end or culminate successively in the Absolute Divine Being or the transcendental Self-I. The first three interrogations viz, where, which and what, though mostly Tamasic by nature, but have their uses in Rajasic and Sattvic senses too in the becoming. That is to say ‘where’ relates to Tamasic-Tamas. When it is indicative of a spot or location or place etc. then it is Tamasic; when indicative of action, condition stage etc. it is Rajasic; and when indicative of a state ,infinity etc., then it is Sattvic.’ Which’ relates to Tamasic-Rajas indicating particular things or objects etc., (Tamasic); work, sense, mind etc.,(Rajasic); and knowledge ,light etc.,(Sattvic). ’What’ relates to Tamasic-Sattva, signifying specific qualities, position designation, occupation, condition, state, type, nature etc..Three queries of this group are born of ,dwell in and also dissolve in the imperfect mind. They have appearance and disappearance but in the true knowledge they do not exist at all. The next three askings viz, when, how and why are wholly Rajasic by nature. Their Tamasic and Sattvic uses are very rare in becoming. That is to say,’ when’ is Rajasic-Tamas, indicating a definite time;’ how’ is Rajasic-Rajas that determines the process, Means ,ways, methods, work, number, quantity and discipline;’ why’ is Rajasic –Sattva that resolves the determining cause, reason, logic, spontaneity, fullness and infinity. Three queries of this group repeatedly appear and disappear in the impure mind but with the dawn of True Wisdom or Self Knowledge they melt away. The last three questions viz, whom, whose, and who are in general impure Sattvic by nature. They have no Tamasic and Rajasic use in becoming. That is to say,’ whom’ is Sattva-Tamas, signifying the reflexive sense of subjective object;’ whose’ is Sattvic Rajas denoting the reflexive sense of subjective relation and ‘who’ is Sattvic –Sattva emphasizing the reflexive sense of subjective subject and beyond. Three queries of this group continue in life till the dawn of true wisdom or Self Knowledge. In true Self –Knowledge they do not rise at all. The query ‘where’ arises from the unquiet, dispersed surface consciousness of the lower mind and lower vital Tamasic nature and continues till it finds its accurate and appropriate answer in the pure heart consciousness or all – pervading spiritual knowledge. That is to say, the sensual query’ where’ of Tamasic group, on being conditioned by the triple Guna, continues in life and repeatedly plays in the mental consciousness, until the individual realizes its basic unity and identity with the transcendental self I. the sense ‘where’ then melts in the Absolute Divine Existence. This means ‘where’, the becoming vibration of Tamasic nature of the intelligent mind (pragmatic soul), concludes in the Being or the Divine Self I, the existence Absolute. The question ‘which’ of Tamasic group evolves from the same unquiet surface consciousness of Tamasic mind and continues in life so long as the individual does not arrive at the self knowledge and the Divine perfection. The question ‘which’, on being conditioned by the triple Guna plays in the mind, until and unless it finds its appropriate answer in the pure heart consciousness or all pervading spiritual knowledge. That is to say the question’ which’ expands from the impure mind and completes in the pure mind or in the Self Knowledge. The query ‘what’ of Tamasic group comes forth from the unsteady consciousness of the subjective mind and continues in life so long as it does not find its final answer in the heart consciousness or Self Knowledge. The query ‘what’ on being conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in the impure mind till the purification of mind and heart is attained. When the individual attains Self –Knowledge and divine perfection, the query ‘what’ disappears completely. The interrogation ‘when’ comes from the anxious mind of Rajasic temperament and continues in life so long as it doesn’t find its final answer in the heart Consciousness or Self Knowledge. The interrogation ‘ when’ of Rajasic group, on being conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in restless, unsteady and impure mind, until the mind and the heart become purified, sanctified and stable. On the attainment of spiritual perfection the query ‘when’ merges into the spiritual mind or Self Consciousness. The question ‘how’ of Rajasic group springs up in the unquiet, energetic and seeking mind of Rajasic temperament and continues in life so long as it does not find its all perfect final answer in the central consciousness or Self Knowledge. This ‘how’, on being conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in unstable, unbalanced and inharmonious mind until the mind, and heart becomes stable, balanced and harmonized. When the individual attains Self Knowledge and divine perfection, the question ‘how’ vanishes forever. The query ‘why’ of Rajasic group arises from the intense curiosity of Rajasic mind and persists in life so long as it cannot discover its all-comprehensive and real answer in the perpetual light of the self consciousness. This question ‘why’ on getting conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in the unsteady and the unbalanced mind, until the mind and heart become steady, balanced and spiritualized or divinized. Having attained Self knowledge or divine Consciousness an individuals query ‘why’ gets wiped out completely . The question ‘whom’ of Sattvic group proceeds from the spiritual aspiration of the Sattvic mind and prolongs in life until and unless it discovers the all-perfect highest answer within the innermost central Being or the Divine Self I. The query ‘whom’, on being conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in the balanced harmonized, uniformed and spiritual fold of the Sattvic mind, until the Sattvic mind is fully transformed into the infinite divine mind or gets fully unified and identified with the Supreme divine Self I or the Wisdom Absolute. The query ‘whose’, of Sattvic group arises from the super mind of Sattvic disposition and goes on with the life so long as it cannot arrive at Self knowledge. This question ‘whose’ ,on getting conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in the balanced ,harmonized, uniformed and spiritual fold of the Sattvic mind, until the later is fully transformed into the infinite divine mind or gets fully unified and identified with the Supreme Divine Self I or the Wisdom Absolute. The highest query ‘who’ of Sattvic group descends in the upper spiritual mind of Sattvic disposition and proceeds along the life in the nature of self-query(introspection)i.e., ”who am I?”,so long as it does not realize its basic and fundamental unity and identity with the Supreme Divine Self I or the Absolute Being-the Ultimate I Reality or Essence. The supreme asking ‘who’, having been conditioned by the triple Guna, plays in the balanced, harmonized, uniformed and spiritual fold of the Sattvic mind, until the Sattvic mind is fully transformed into the infinite divine mind or into the transcendental nature of the infinite and the Eternal, and the seeker himself also becomes wholly unified and identified with the supreme and the Absolute Divine Self I, the Ultimate I Reality. In the eternal Leela of the Supreme Divine Self I, It is Being and becoming both. As Being It is Prajnanamoy meaning the Wisdom Absolute, and as becoming It is Vijnanamoy meaning the intelligent mind. This intelligent mind in the cosmic sense is the qualified Divinity, but in the individual sense it is Jiva or embodied spirit. The embodied spirit or soul –I in becoming gets conditioned and qualified by the triple Guna. The nine fold query is begotten of the individual soul I, in becoming and they culminate in the supreme state of the transcendental Being through the cosmic process of evolution. Becoming knows itself wholly and perfectly only when it is identified with the Absolute Being. The soul in becoming arrives at Self-Knowledge when it accepts and embraces all without any exception as the One-Divine Self I for all time, as it is. Expressed otherwise, the individual soul attains Self-Knowledge and divine perfection only when it realizes the supreme I and the Absolute Being and possesses the transcendental nature of the infinite and the Eternal. The intellectual soul in becoming is a manifestation or rather a ‘Parinam’ meaning transformation of the Supreme Divine Self I. And the absolute perfection and divinization of an individual soul I mean its total transformation into the Supreme Divine Self I. The transformation of human nature becomes complete only when the entire substance of its being is attuned to the Sattvic principle and all its movements culminate in one spontaneous, dynamic and harmonious process of the divine spirit –the Divine I Reality. The Supreme Being Himself performs and enjoys His eternal Leela of infinite I or Thou Consciousness in and through intellectual soul or intelligent mind. Swabhavashakti, meaning innate power of the intellectual soul, unfolds its nine fold Guna and its mysterious game in and through nine fold query. The mysterious game of the Guna is diversity in the sense consciousness externally, duality and relativity in the mental consciousness internally, and unity and identity in the heart – consciousness centrally, while in the Ultimate I Reality or the Wisdom Absolute transcendentally there is no function of Gunas at all, yet power, knowledge, bliss, love and peace-Absolute are ever spontaneous.
