Metaphorically Speaking
I watched as time passed by, and life took a bite out of you. When you broke your ankle, I wept. I heard the snap of your broken heart. I watched all your relentless attempts to be the perfect wife. Disappointment covered you like a blanket as your children grew each year. Then one day, a piece of light broke through an opening in that blanket. That hole grew bigger and bigger and brighter and brighter, Till the end of the tunnel was flooded in complete sunlight.
