In the beginning God did care For those who’d one day be, His love abounded ev’rywhere, And reaches you and me Because God loves He created for six days in a row, the heavens first, and then the earth, a place where man could grow. Grow in stature and in knowledge through God’s great grace divine, formed from the dust but living now, a branch within the vine. In the beginning God did teach his people how to live, according to His wondrous law, commandments He would give. In the beginning God did choose to die upon the cross, he shed His blood, gave up His life to pay sin’s awful cost. In the beginning God did know that He would rise again. He would defeat death’s icy chill. His death was not in vain. In the beginning our God knew that He’d come back one day, receive His children unto Him, with Him for e’re to stay.
