Update: Many have complained about similar world events and or timeline to the real world. I'd like to remind everyone that this is a work of fiction and thus should not be considered or compared to the real world. Think of it like an alternate universe similar to ours; only certain events have steered their world into different directions and events for example: NY faces a terrorist threat but by different terrorist with different views and the last major bombing took place a few years after the year 2000 and the Chrysler Building was bombed and the SRC stands where the twin towers would be. okay? not here, not us, not real life . . . . So please just enjoy the story and lets not get nit picky with our imaginations, because like our dreams they don't always follow the rules. Alternate universe (Just sayin). IMPORTANT UPDATE[1-26-2012]: Thank you to my readers and reviewers, every reviewer was extremely helpful and always went beyond the extra mile. I have written a few reviews back and for many others, and believe me when i say I thank you for your time (and hopefully your continuing efforts). You have my eternal gratitude. I'm writing this update for all my readers; I get that any new story is hard to adjust or commit to, but not soo much if you enjoy it all. With that said, I wanted to offer some overdue insight to the main character. As a writer and through tips from famous writers (Swain to name 1), I have have come to understand that In order for readers to really engage with the character, they must grow with the character. We are paired or stuck with this sort of rude, disconnected, paranoid, faithless guy who is a bit of a jerk but through each trial and tribulation he develops into the hero the world needs him to be. Its all about the journey and one that ends with with an unlikely dark hero rising to fight against the forces of evil and eventually save, then lead the people of the world to peace or at least greater order. I'm thinking that in order to write a character that grows, especially one that is a bit darker and unlikely to fit the typical selfless 'Hero'. I would have to give him a whole bunch of character trait issues, make him detached from the world, rude, ageist, homophobic; issues. I wont bother you with a roster. but things about this person the reader can actually see change over time as the character develops. I'd like to leave off with a plea of sorts: Please bare with our Main Hero as this is his first day(chapter). You cant expect to know everything about a person or what motivates them if you don't take the time to get to know them first (which i will try to fully address). You may even come to like him or at least understand his pain. P.S: As a cryptic hint into Pedro's character: Don't judge a book by it's 'cover' . . . CHEERS. Be sure to recheck chapter 1 as the entire chapter has gotten a much needed 'face lift'. and please read on a few chapters, a lot about the books 'backstory' is drop fed. Here is the opening forward for the book. Please tell me if you like it. Forward Just because someone writes something down and calls it history, doesn't make it the truth; those who win the war write the history. The good guy is just the last guy standing. Good guy, bad guy, it's just a matter of perspective and the manner in which the words are landing. In the end there is no black and there is no white; both sides are fighting for the same thing; power, control, and all that comes with it. This leaves the world forever walking an unsure path, stuck in a state of gray. Every soul is forced to fight to make their way, only to be plunged into darkness as they attempt to reach for the light. The wheels of time are turned by the hands of the young, and being controlled by the fate of the old. Every one is fighting over things that aren't real, trying to prove right stories using not what they know, but only what they are told. Bought off by liars and thieves and paid with wild dreams and promises like a fountain of youth, or ever lasting life, but only after you die. . . When you get there you will realize that in the end, all that matters is the truth, and it was all a lie.
