Love is not enough Condemned by its will It will never set us free It will hold us prisoner For all of eternity. Love is not enough No matter how hard we try We will fail in every way We will tear each other apart We will lay waste to such ideals. Love is not enough It can no more redeem us Than we could ever redeem ourselves It is an impossible dream Set to a reality of all that can't be. Love is not enough It will not fill our hearts It will not ease our pain It will do nothing to offer us A seconds worth of relief. Love is not enough No matter what we do How hard we try As much as we wish It will never be. Love is not enough It will not sustain us It will never fill our gullet Our cup does not runneth over In fact it is quite empty.
