The judge handed down his edict, "I want you to meet with these children and speak to them explicitly about the dangers of fire." Arrangements were made, and on the appointed day the executer arrived at the address given him. The executer knocked on the door but no one would open. He turned the knob and found the door was not locked, so he walked inside. He called out stating the nature of his business, and after a short while a man walked into the hallway. 'Hello", the executer introduced himself, "I'm here to speak to the children as was stated in the letter sent by the judge." The man, saying nothing, turned and walked away seemingly uninterested and not wanting to be bothered. The executer called after him stating it was by judges order. The man turned his head and looked at the executer angrily while walking into the living room where the executer children in conversation. Looking up at the ceiling the executer saw the home had some recent fire damage, and as he panned down to his right he was shocked to see a baby's foot sticking out of the floorboards. He cried out for help, "There's a baby buried under the floor!" The room was quickly flooded with helping hands. The floorboards were quickly removed and the executer saw that it was a black male baby and still had life. A woman came over, she gathered the baby in her arms giving him comfort, then they all walked away into the living room. After the room had cleared the executer was once again was shocked to see another set of baby's feet. He cried out yet again for help and the helping hands returned. Everyone began pulling on the floorboards but they would not loosen. Desperate, the executer looked around and found a large crowbar. He jammed the crowbar under the floorboards and was able to loosen them enough that they could be moved. The executer looked down and saw the lifeless body of a white male baby which brought him much sadness. A woman came over and squatted by the baby. She shook the lifeless body and the baby moved, raising the executers hopes. The woman gatherd the baby in her arms giving him comfort but the second baby was not a live as the first baby and the executer was saddened knowing the baby would not survive his run.
