We now find ourselves in the office of a mister Riordan Kirentol. This man is well known throughout the world for his philanthropic and justice oriented nature. He has not only funded several charities of various natures, but has also been known to support the police forces the world over both financially and physically. He is credited with solving over 100 active cases and over 200 cold cases, some of which had not been opened in decades. This is not to mention his accomplishments in his solo investigations. It is because of this, that Riordan now sits in his current position. His position is equivalent to that of the fictional Sherlock Holmes. If the police or other law agency has great amount of difficulty in a case, and if the case is deemed serious by Riordan, these agencies will be able to acquire his services. He is also a well known expert in most martial arts forms and is a master with all types of weapons.

Now, let us learn more about this man's physical traits. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall, and is around 30-45 years old. He has a medium build, not too skinny and not too muscular. His eyes were a light-brown and he had dirty-blond hair. He wore a white suit and tie with white dress pants.

He was sitting at his desk, reading the latest news when a knock came from his door. "Come in" he said with a slight hint of an Irish accent. The man did as he was told and came into the office.

"Sir" he started, "I am afraid I have some bad news"

"I suppose it involves the men I sent out earlier this week.

"Yes sir. I am sorry to say that I have received news that each one of them is dead."

"*sigh*Did they all die within short time of each other?"

"Yes sir"

"and the causes of their deaths vary as well?"

"Yes sir"

"Could you list them please."

"I can sir. One of them had received several slashes from some sharp object before the killer stabbed through his heart and throat.

Another died of a single gunshot wound to the head. The third also had also been shot, but it was only a glancing blow across his forehead. He was killed by a single puncture wound that entered through the back of the man's head. The fourth was savagely beaten. He had several cracked vertebrae, a broken leg, and it seems that the killer put him out of his misery by crushing most of the bones in his neck. And finally, the leader of the group suffered a broken arm before he had his head chopped clean off."

"And were there any weapons at the scene?"

"Only the ones registered to the victims sir"

Riordan muttered a curse under his breath, clearly irritated. "Will we ever be able to catch this man? He never leaves any trace at his scenes and no one has lived long enough to say what he looks like. The only witness we ever had wouldn't tell us anything useful because he apparently 'saved her from being attacked by the men he killed'. Where she is now even I don't know. So the only thing we've got on this guy is that he wears a strange mask and a black cloak when he committed this crime and that he has some mastery of various blades, fire arms, and martial arts."

After this, Riordan quickly checked himself and said "I'm sorry for that. I think I'll go for a walk.

"Yes sir"

And with that, Riordan left his office and headed into the elevator across the hall. As the door closed another employee approached the messenger. "Why is he so bent out of shape over this?"

The messenger looked back at him in a questioning manner. "You don't know?" he replied

"If I knew I wouldn't be asking."

"The guy that killed those men is the only man that Mr. Kirentol has never been able to catch."

"How does he know its him?"

"It's the same MO. It's a major crime, there are no witnesses, and these men were mainly killed by weapons like daggers and swords rather than guns."

"I guess it's hard for it to be any one else then, but who is he exactly?"

"That's the really troublesome part. No one knows."

"What do you mean?"

"Well he's never left anything behind at a crime scene and, as I said before, there has never been a witness that could confirm his appearance or name. Well, that's not entirely true."

"What?"

"The one witness he was able to interrogate did apparently ask of his name. However he responded with a "Forgive me bella, but I have no name."

He whistled, "Smooth operator that one isn't he? No wonder that witness he was talking about didn't want to tell him anything. So, If he 'has no name', what do the authorities call him?"

"The authorities refuse to except the idea that only one man is responsible for these crimes, but Mr. Kirentol simply calls him 'Villain'.

During this time, Riordan found himself walking out of his building and onto the busy streets of ( ). He began going over the cases in his head. 'Why is Villain doing these things? Is it like I've theorized and that he believes he's going to create a better world? Or maybe there's another motive. How is it that he is able to commit these crimes without leaving a single trace? Where is he hiding? Just exactly who is he?' As these and other questions and thoughts circulated in his head, Riordan failed to notice that he had turned into a back alley in which a grizzled man sat.

As he passed passed by, the grizzled man quickly sprung up pulling out a revolver. "Give me your wallet" the grizzled man said as he pointed the revolver at Riordan's back. Upon hearing this, a small frown appeared on Riordan's face as he slowly turned to face his attacker. This frown was quickly replaced by an expression that was completely devoid of emotion. Then, he spoke "Are you sure about this?"

"I said give me your wallet."

"What if I told you I don't have one?"

"Bullshit, a man dressed like you always has something on him. Now hand it over."

"But I am telling you the truth. I have no money on me or I would have given it to you already." Riordan replied getting a little miffed. He did not have time to stand around in the alley and talk all day. He would have to finish this quickly.

"It's a pity we couldn't do this the easy way" the mugger said, "I would rather not have had to search your corpse for it." And with that he pulled the trigger.

Oddly enough nothing happened. The mugger, in a state of shock kept on pulling the trigger as if the repeated motion might some how make the gun work again. With a sigh, Riordan moved up to him and snatched the gun away.

"The safety is on I'm afraid" he said. While the would be mugger stood there awe struck, Riordan began to inspect the gun. After a few seconds he looked back up to the man and said. "This is a nice gun, I think I'll keep it as pay for my troubles. I would re-evaluate your line of work If I were you my friend. You are obviously not suited for this kind." With that; Riordan put the gun in his coat pocket, turned his back on the man, and began to walk away.

This incited a snarl from the would be mugger, and he pulled a small knife from his coat. Then, in a rage, the mugger ran at Riordan, attempting to drive the knife into his back. Again a sigh escaped from Riordan's lips. As the knife was only inches from him, Riordan turned around and swiftly grabbed the assailant's wrist, stopping him in his tracks. Riordan then proceeded to twist the man's wrist, inciting a howl of pain from the man. It quickly reached the point where the man could no longer hold the knife and it clanged to the ground. Riordan then brought the man down with a hard elbow to his ribs, bringing the man to his knees. As the man knelled there gasping for breath, Riordan pulled out the gun he had just taken and pointed it at him. "Well isn't this ironic." he stated as the man looked up at him with wide eyes. "However, you're lucky I'm not a lowlife like you." And with that, Riordan grabbed the barrel of the pistol and struck the man's head with the butt of it, rendering him unconscious. He then reached into his jacket and took out his phone. He dialed a number and waited for the other end to pick up. When it did, Riordan said, Chief? It's Riordan. Oh I'm not up to much at the moment ... I think I would like to have dinner with you later. Listen, I think you would like to know that there is a mugger lying unconscious in the third back alley of Walker street ... How? We had a little run in. You'll find that upon arresting him that he is the one responsible for the recent string of muggings and possibly responsible for two or three homicides. ... Oh it wasn't a problem. ... Your welcome, also, when we meet later today there's something I would like to talk to you about .. Yeah, I'll tell you later. Bye."

Riordan hung up his phone and brought out some cable ties in order to restrain the unconscious man. "While I would have preferred another way of getting a chance to talk with the chief, I guess I have to thank you for providing me with an excuse." Once Riordan was finished tying the man up, he dusted himself off and began walking back to his office. "Maybe all I need is a fresh pair of eyes on this case. If that's true, then there is no one better to help me than Annabelle Lathey.

Thank you very much for reading.

There are now six parts to this. I can't wait to finish the seventh.

As I said last time, I appreciate any criticism and suggestions you may have.

It helps me out a lot.
