Charlotte McAllister walked through the empty hallways, There were few people in it. Lost in thought she bumped into a figure. She looked up and saw Alex, a strange girl. She was coming out of a classroom, Studying, no doubt.

"Sorry" Charlotte said as she bent down and picked the red folder she had clumsily knocked out of Alex's hands.
She quickly gave her a smile and walked away.

Charlotte McAllister failed to see Alex staring off after her as she walked away into the darkness of the hall.
She kept walking until she got to her locker.
The stupid combination kept getting stuck again. She looked around, the empty, almost dark hallways scared her.
Everybody was gone. Or so she thought
Once she grabbed her jacket and bag, she slammed the door of her locker.
Pacing away, she did not see the black hair and black painted eyes that followed her.

Charlotte was out of the school, she walked to a nearby tree, that had, obviously lost it's leaves and was brown. It was the middle of fall.
It felt safe. She pulled out her Algebra II worksheets she had yet to finish. It was freezing, but she didn't mind much. It was calm and safe, that's all that mattered.

Quiet, Quiet, and... Creek. The tree made a noise.
She looked around and saw nothing or.. anyone.

"Could.. Could it be someone on the.. ? " Charlotte thought to herself
She looked up so fast, it almost gave her whiplash

The most stable branch was moving as if someone had just.. been sitting on it.
Charlotte grabbed her papers and bag and started into a sprint. She ran until she was at the front door of her house.
Her parents were gone, out of town this week. She didn't want to be scared on her first night alone.
The key fumbled into the lock and the door opened.

She hated her paranoia.

She walked to the kitchen and went to the fridge, and pulled out vegan meat patties.
Black flashed in the corner of her eye. She turned around and found nothing.
The house was empty, no one had followed her home.

Charlotte finished making her vegan patty and ate it with as little paranoid thoughts as possible. As she ate though, her mind wandered back to the strange girl in the hallway, Alex.
As far as she knew, she was one of the last in the school, besides Charlotte herself.
She heard rumors about Alex being weird, but surely she wasn't a stalker?

Her bathroom was tiny, she pulled out a pink toothbrush and proceeded to brush her teeth.
Black, in the corner of her eye, on the top of the shower.
She looked and nothing. She considered opening the shower curtain but she was so afraid she didn't dare.
When she was done, she shut the door and locker herself into her room.

Under the dark covers, she was safe.
Nothing could harm her while she was under them. Such a pathetic attempt at making herself feel safe.
Soon, she fell asleep and dreamed of the pretty garden that had bloomed the previous summer in her backyard.

Suddenly, the dream switched to something else.
Someone was touching her hair, someone was playing with it.
She awakened and looked around the room
Her hair was brushed back and she smelled a familiar sickening sweetness, The same one that she smelled in the hallways, The same one that was around her house.

Charlotte's fear wouldn't let her sleep so she decided to pick out her clothes for tomorrow. She slipped out of bed and walked to the closet.
She opened the old door and took out a pretty black blouse she treasured.

"Wait.. did something move? " She wondered
Charlotte turned back to the closet and looked inside it. All she saw were clothes.
Confused, she turned her back to it

All of a sudden, a pair of arms grabbed hold of her torso and pulled her inside.
A scream was caught in Charlotte's throat, as she had no time to register what was happening and was pulled away into a world of darkness and the familiar sickening sweetness, once again.
