Poem For My Grandad
My granddad passed away not long ago, and I wrote this poem for him..

You will Always go on,
In our hearts, in our minds.
The way that you laughed, smiled,
and the solutions you’d find.
And while we will miss you,
In the oncoming days,
We will always remember your weird,
and wonderful ways.

You helped us to smile,
When all else seemed blue...
And no one could tie us in knots quite like you!
When it came to conundrums,
you were our man!
No matter what came, we’d say:
“Granddad can!”

When things seemed glum,
We could come to you,
And you would change the perspective,
You had a very different view.
From the outside, your world seemed topsy-turvey
at best,
But of course, you had to be different from the rest!

I know for a fact we would do it all again,
If we could, any time, just tell us all when!

But it suites you just perfect
(I know it, I’m sure!)
That you have the whole universe, just sitting at your door!

Now with your spirit running freely,
And your memory in our hearts,
Your love remains forever,
From that we will never part
