Falling
One step, and it would be over. One step, and I'd be free.

Darkness is all that awaits me
Cold and unforgiving
The rain falls
Hiding my tears
I take a step closer to the edge

My life is flashing before me
Images, both happy and sad
I see pictures of him
His face when I left
His cries echo in my ears

I try to tell myself to move on
To forget him
But I cannot
And that's why I'm here
So I can forget

One step, and it would be over
One step, and I'd be free
Free to forget
Just one step
Just one

My heart is pounding
My mind is racing
I raise my foot
But put it back down
I can't do it

Not yet
But I know I must
I know I will
Sooner or later
I will

I take a deep breath
Push all other thoughts from my mind
One step
Just one step

I close my eyes

And take one step
The air rushes past
I say my silent farewells
And cry silent tears
Tears for him

As the darkness closes in
The last thing I think is
I'm sorry for leaving
I'm sorry for what I did to you
I'm sorry

I fall
And fall
And finally
I feel it
I'm free

As a note from the author, I would just like to say that this poem is not based off my own emotions, and it is my firm belief that suicide will only get you a one-way ticket to heck. Just because the girl in this poem thinks it is her only option, there are others ways. Go see a therapist, talk to your family or close friends, anyone. As a final note, if you're reading this, you must have read the poetry above, so please let me know what you think.
