-Know This- by Keaton Foster Short Verse Know this Take my hand Ignore the sweat Pay no mind To the trembling. I want you to see You must be shown The unbelievable to Adequately understand. This fact based façade Is built upon a castle of lies No one knows what's inside No one but the real me. Placed upon its pedestal A sacred anti-social brick It was once thrown at me Hitting me right in the head God almighty did it ever hurt. Such pain, impossible to escape I have never been the same since I am as conflicted as I am complicated I have my values and I wear them like skin. But what is beneath is certainly unlike What I carefully allow others to know I give them a taste, but I am always sure to leave Them as hungry as a pack of ravenous dogs. In time, I know that they will turn on each other I will enjoy the show, the level in which I know that they will sink pleases me The line between sadist and narcissist Is getting shorter all of the time. If you are curious, if you are willing If the nature of your being is to know more Even if what it is will leave you feeling empty With a massive hole in the center of your chest Then please, oh please, come on in. The doors to this prison of flesh open inward From this day forward You will fight to fill the hole in your chest Such an impossible void of misunderstanding is Is a true detriment of our species. Know this, I am aware of more than most I could teach you all that you wish But then again, such lessons would leave you No closer to understanding a damn thing… Know This Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012 Biography
