Priorities
A poem about people with messed up priorities.

You buy them the latest trends from Macy's
But they do not know their ABCs
They have everything did looking fancy now
Failing all their classes looking like wow
Familiar with all the latest music and all the latest dances
Children have friends who are supposed to be parents
They come to school always unprepared
Sitting in class, clueless, not giving a care
Expressing concerns to parents is pointless
Just like the children, they couldn't care less
You can't blame the kids because it comes from somewhere
Parents are just as clueless, completely unaware
Too busy befriending their offspring
Instead of providing a proper upbringing
Wanting to be seen, they have cars with flashy rims
Spending dough they don't have based off their childish whims
Income tax ballers, they're no shot callers
Acting like good men but they're deadbeat fathers
Living the "high life" and don't own a thing
There is absolutely nothing to the table they bring
Staying in a nice 2-story brick home
But they don't have a single piece of furniture to sit on
Or they stay at home with their mama claiming they're "helping her out"
Why don't they speak the truth and remove all doubt?
Or they live with one of their baby mamas
Acting like they're single adding to the drama
Ladies, you want a man to take care of you
But your priorities are all askew
Spending your child support on nails and lacefronts
Clothes for the club, cigarettes and blunts
Always on the lookout for your next baby daddy
When y'all already have more than 2, man y'all kill me
Trying to be "real" but physically you're fake
Please quit frontin' for goodness sake
People people, get your priorities together
Please stop being disappointments to your ancestors
You'll never get ahead if you choose mediocrity
So work on yourselves and rearrange your priorities.
