Gods Praise: Republic War Machine

This whole war was fucked, fucked to hell. It tore the Drusus Republic into pieces. Even places the Drusus' Government and the Legion Armed Forces had firm control over had been thrown into the chaos erupting across the galaxy. The Gemini Rebellion put Brother against Brother, Husband against Wife. It divided the central and outer planetary Governments and the Circle of Twenty, the Circle was made up of the Representatives of each Colony which only took orders from the Emperor himself, who made the final choice of any argument, plan, or decision that was being disputed among the Colonies. With the war, though, the Circle had been put against each other and ended up splitting. The Republic still kept the Circle alive only now it was dubbed Circle of the Loyal Thirteen. The Gemini Government, even if it was a joke, still had a well-built system. The Forum of Seven. The only reason this war had been declared by the Gemini people in the first place was to split from the Republic which they claimed was unfair and provided no representation of the people as a whole. At least that's what they said.

So far, in the war, the Republic was losing due to one of the Seven planets that mutinied to the Gemini side being the main source of Iranium, one of the rarest metals found that also happened to be what the Drusus X-1 Frigate's armor hulls were made from. And so with the Iranium almost completely cut off to the Republic, they rolled out the weaker Drusus X-2 Cruisers. There hulls were made from Titanium, of course it was strong but Iranium made X-1's made the Cruisers look like tinker toys. That's why they only kept the X-2's around to protect the fewer X-1's, of course they did have there own advantages. With the lighter hulls they could support larger M.A.C. weaponry then the frigates. That and how fast and maneuverable they were might give them the edge some day soon.

To add to the fleet though were the smaller Y-17 Prowlers. They were smaller and faster then the other Fleet Ships, supported decent weaponry that would nearly decimate any Light Cruiser the Gemini fleet could throw at them, and to add to the good they acted as Aircraft Carriers for the I-25 Heavy Fighter class and the I-27 Heavy Bomber class. The I-25 and I-27 were the two most trusted, reliable, and legendary Aircraft the Republic had ever created for spaceflight.

With the Republic gaining thousands of volunteer soldiers a day, it was only a matter of time before they crushed the filth of the Gemini Uprising and restore peace, prosperity, and order throughout the Colonies of the Drusus Republic. The Gemini Rebellion fought using fear but fear, fear did not keep the Republic from fighting them. A terrorist organization that gained support through fear would not be tolerated.

The Drusus Elite Legions was a well-built war machine ready to fight to the last soldier standing alive. The four Legions were; The First Praetorian Marine Legion, The Celeres Armored Legion, The Auxiliary Light Legion, and The Ad hoc/Specialized Infantry Legion.

The First Praetorian Marine's were a military asset full of experienced and loyal troops, usually the first ones to hit the fire of a front line battle. They were trusted with some of the most dangerous assignments. After the nuclear attack of Cipius only one hundred and three men and women make up the ground force of the First Praetorian Marines with two hundred and twenty more troops moving in to support and add to their ranks.

The Celeres Armored Legion consisted of a Heavy and Medium Tank Century, a Heavy Infantry Century, an Artillery and other Support Weaponry Century, and one Century of Regular Infantry usually used to guard artillery positions or fill support roles. Four hundred and seventy five men and women are part of the Celeres Armored Legion with a hundred and thirty reserve troops.

The Auxiliary Light Legion had been made for the Guerrilla Warfare taking place on the three tropical planets; Calor, Litus, and Arena. They consisted of three Light Infantry Century's, one Light Tank Century, and one Engineer Century. They Auxiliaries are great when you need something built, destroyed, or want to wage a war from cover. Five hundred and fifteen are active in The Axuiliarie Light Legion with exactly two hundred in reserve.

The Ad hoc/Specialized Infantry Legion were used during situations of a certain sensitivity. The four Century's in the Legion were all Infantry but every soldier specialized in something different. Their skill in battle, their flexibility during missions, and their loyalty to the Republic. Four hundred and sixty troops are in the four Ad hoc/Specialized Infantry Legion Century's with two hundred and fifty troops ready to take the place of a fallen soldier.

Those four Legions were just the Elite of the best trained troops in the galaxy. There are over a hundred other Legions of volunteer soldiers fighting the war against the Gemini Rebellion. That puts the troop count at five hundred thousand two hundred and sixty armed soldiers with five thousand and twenty one reserve troops, and that was just counting infantry troops. There were still Navy Personnel, Air Force Personnel, and Engineering Personnel spread throughout the Republic.

The estimated Gemini troop count was fifty thousand armed land soldiers with questionable loyalty. It was going to be a slaughter house as soon as the mini-campaigns on every war-torn planet escalated to a major level. Something bad was coming and somehow it would change the Republic. This war would definitely leave a nice shiny black eye on the Republic.
