So they ask me the straightforward question of what I am. Ah… What a curious question. Well, what can I say? Err... I am a Man.

Except, as I observe their reaction it becomes apparent that they were hoping for more than what I have just offered them onto their plate.

All right, I genuinely do hate to disappoint. Let me now proceed, and give them exactly what they want.

Thankfully both my parents are still alive. So consequently, I still get to hold the title of being a Son.

Yet, I am not an only Child. I have two Sisters and one Brother, so for that reason, I am also a Brother.

Now, let me continue with this. My Brother, the one I just mentioned, is a Father, and both my Sisters are Mothers. So now I have acquired a new title, the title is that of an Uncle.

Sorry, just let me reverse a bit. My Father and my Mother also have Sisters and Brothers, which transforms me into something that is called a nephew.

Now those Sisters and Brothers are also Fathers and Mothers. So now what am I? I am a Cousin.

So, let us just recap where we are. We have determined I am a Man, I am a Son, I am a Brother, I am an Uncle, but then I am also a Nephew and a Cousin.

Let me now continue with this little conundrum. I myself have two sons. So I am also a Father, just like my Brother.

Although I am not married to my Children’s Mother, I can only say that I am either her partner, or her lover.

As I now sit here in solitude and ponder this basic question, I realize that I am many things.

I am a friend, but I am also a foe.

I am a reader, and yet I am also a writer.

I am comprised of trillions of atoms that were created inside the hearts of giant stars.

I am also many more things, which I just do not feel the need to inquire about at this present time.

So now a more pertinent question may arise.

How have I gained this knowledge of what I am?

The only conclusion that I am willing to offer them is this.

It is because, I am simply, only
