Lost Valentine Wandering slowly through the store inhaling the aged smell. Antique furniture, coins, and more, a unique mix, I could tell. There had to be a treasure. I could feel impending glory. Little did I know the measure of the unfolding story. I meandered toward the back, where my heart did truly lie. Forgotten books, a haphazard stack. I caressed one with a sigh. A valentine, yellow with age, fell from an ancient text. I gently turned over the page. Twas magic that happened next. Cupid's arrow's mark was true, for printed there in rhyme, were heartfelt words of love anew. Taking me back in time. My dearest Jane, Though I leave within the week for my sojourn across the sea, I leave you with my heart. Be my Valentine! I fear I tarried far too long. My words may be abrupt and strong. Alas, there is no time to waste My darling, we must make haste. You will be lonely, but not alone. My heart remains with your own. Will you stand by me and share my life? I'm asking you to be my wife. Cupids' laugh is pealing from Heaven up above. That's this euphoric feeling. Dear God,.. I'm in love! Marry Me Jane. Love forever, Joe (line count 38)
