Candy Hearts and You
A Valentine's Day poem written for the Coloring the World contest. Featured in Poetry NL. |
| Love You Be True Be Mine My Baby All Mine Love Me Hug Me Kiss Me One I Love You Sweet and true, like our love, this splendid Valentine treat. On this day for lovers, we celebrate each other, a love of souls complete. I want no chocolates, hearts, or flowers. All I need is you, and the passionate silence, as our mouths meet in a tender kiss. Here by your side, while gazing in your eyes, my heart, it beats so fast. This perfect day celebrated my way, with candy hearts and you. ![]() Written for "COLORING THE WORLD CONTEST TEMP. CLOSED " Prompt: Candy Hearts and You Word Count: 90 Line Count: 20 Form: Free-Verse Poem AUTHOR’S NOTES: This was the perfect prompt for me. I love conversation hearts, and that is the first thing I thought of when I saw this prompt. Unfortunately, my husband loves them, too. He not only eats the ones I buy him for Valentine's Day, but he also eats the ones he buys for me, so I never get any! |
