Candy Hearts and You
Rated: 13+ | Poetry | Romance/Love | #1847540
A Valentine's Day poem written for the Coloring the World contest. Featured in Poetry NL.
Love You   Be True
Be Mine  My Baby  All Mine
Love Me Hug Me Kiss Me
One I Love
You

*Heart* *Heart* *Heart*

Sweet and true,
like our love,
this splendid Valentine treat.

On this day for lovers,
we celebrate each other,
a love of souls complete.

I want no chocolates, hearts, or flowers.
All I need is you, and the passionate silence,
as our mouths meet in a tender kiss.

Here by your side,
while gazing in your eyes,
my heart, it beats so fast.

This perfect day
celebrated my way,
with candy hearts and you.

Written for "COLORING THE WORLD CONTEST TEMP. CLOSED February 5-12, 2012
Prompt: Candy Hearts and You
Word Count: 90
Line Count: 20
Form: Free-Verse Poem

AUTHOR’S NOTES: This was the perfect prompt for me. I love conversation hearts, and that is the first thing I thought of when I saw this prompt. Unfortunately, my husband loves them, too. He not only eats the ones I buy him for Valentine's Day, but he also eats the ones he buys for me, so I never get any! *Laugh* The beginning of this poem is a bunch of sayings found on conversation hearts, and they are in the shape of a heart. Happy Valentine's Day everyone! *Heart*
