Colorado by R.R. Reames
(In Memory of Miller Stewart and to the Children of Colorado on Earth Day) Howdy friends, Let me tell you 'bout a place I know, a golden land out west. A state that's often blessed with snow, from vallies deep to mountain's crest. A place that's rich in history, where Indian ponies roamed of old. and miners delved the mysteries, earth's hidden veins of gold. A place where friends abide, and share the joys of living free. watching eagles soar and glide, o'er windswept crag or lonesome tree. A day in Colorado is a day without compare, when morning lights the mountains and pine scent fills the air. I love this land of open sky, of forests green and mountains high, of rivers cold and clear. Come join me in this state, my friend, and leave the city's cares behind, and to the glorious peaks ascend, and walk the paths of Columbine.
