That superficial glance,
You gave her at the dance, Never allowed the chance, For you to find romance. You gave her at the dance, That disapproving glare. You didn’t like her hair, Or the dress she did wear. Never allowed the chance, To listen to her speak. Which would have made knees weak, And brought blush to your cheek. For you to find romance That night, was destiny. But judging too quickly, Now keeps your heart empty. This poem consists of four stanzas. Each stanza has 4 lines. Each line consists of 6 syllables. The rhyme scheme is: 1st stanza: a,a,a,a 2nd stanza: a,b,b,b 3rd stanza: a,c,c,c 4th stanza: a,d,d,d The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lines of the first stanza are refrains that appear in the first lines of the following stanzas. The second stanza’s 1st line is the 2nd line of the first stanza. The third stanza’s 1st line is the 3rd line of the first stanza. The forth stanza’s 1st line is the 4th line of the first stanza
