The Music Box
This poem is about lost love

As it sits there all alone

There are remnants of times past.

When opened it utters a slight tone

And the repetition is fast.

The song tells of things gone wrong

As well as lessons learned.

Even though the troubles are gone

The heart always feels the burn.

Many times it's found its way in the trash

Only to be recovered by a glance.

Around the square body it carries a sash

That was once given at a dance.

It became the dying plot of the play

Which foreshadowed their chance.

In the end there was nothing to say

Everything was severed with a lance.

There the music box sits

Collecting dust throughout the years.

And the images of the kissed

Always ends with saddened tears.
