-A Gathering of Fools- by Keaton Foster Gather around fools Because there are plenty Of smarter truths. Things that you don't know Because you have never Been adequately shown. Once you see them You will never again Be able to claim such ignorance. You will be changed In ways undefinable to the minds Of those that hold you close. They will struggle to understand As you see with absolute clarity All that can be and should have been. Such heretics with your broken fingers There is something that you must understand Something that will open wide your eyes. Consequently, you are unable to point So you will have no power to cast doubt Superfluous you have become. I need you less and less And you need yourself Far less than that. This narcissist, turned teacher Trained liar and realty stealer will not Betray the enslavement of such ways. Come closer Fear nothing of yourself And the absurd nature of who you are. You are infinitely less harmless To everyone but what hides Behind the folds of your eyes. More poet than human being I was put on this earth to do one thing Such experiences can easily be yours. I will lend them to you as a gift A present with conditions To be returned upon completion. At first you will complain Increasingly full of yourself You will refuse to see. But then one day Or terribly dark night You will see with absolute clarity. Your world will change You will be turned upside down For some time, there you will remain. The rush of blood will fill your head Your mind will float All that you know will become saturated. Before you are drowned Before you suffocate on nothing Fear not, I will turn you back. I will stand you straight And then send you on your way Back to the wilderness of your ways. Much will change Few will know How could they ever. But be assured that you Will be more monster than being A carnivore in a world of lambs. They will stand no chance against The killing nature of our kind Mixed with truth shown to them. No one will ever again judge No longer will they snicker Never again will they mutter. Your weapons of choice Your brutal instrument of truth Will be words crafted by you. I will move on, confiding in others There are many of lessons to be taught And plenty of minds, eager and willing… A Gathering of Fools Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012 Biography
