As the day wanes, I remember….
I remember you, my love always
The perfect kisses under the moonlit enchanted summer night,
The way we ran, our hearts pounding when you took me in your possession,
Perfect bliss was mine as you ran your fingers through my hair, playing with it and braiding it
Every day you came just for me
Every day I looked forward to your presence, knowing you would be there
Now the last of my memory stays clear in my mind,
An interrupted conversation before I was taken away from your sight,
I remember it well, how could I ever forget
You were swinging me in the moonlight,
Our conversation was light and perfect
When all at once you stopped,
You had a look in your eye I had never seen before,
I felt it reflected in mine,
All along I’ve known, as I’m sure you have known what went unrequited due to the cruelness of youth
Yet soon, very soon our love shall be requited…
I feel it, like a warm wind hugging my skin
Like butterflies fluttering about the flowers of my mind.
I feel you getting ever closer to me,
I feel a great wrongness turning right.
The urge to be ready and make ready is mine to cherish as you draw near.
When spring comes, so will you my dear.
We shall be restored to the glory of our youth with an earth shattering kiss.
The very kind that ends all stories and is felt as far as the eye can see, if not further.
