My Baby, My Wife
Well I was there for your first cry, it gave me such a natural high, I had been worried about my wife, but hearing you then, changed my life. And then I wiped your diamond-like tear, and told you that I'd always be here. I held you close and saw your eyes, and marveled at your breakable size. I marveled at your tiny toes, your wonderful breath, your pudgy nose, your hands so small, your eyes so blue; like God's behind them, shining through. The weight I felt was mixed with bliss, and then I bent and gave you a kiss, when I discovered what every dad knows-- my baby, my wife, and both of your glows.
