"To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself." ~ Soren Kierkegaard In the land of the forgotten I live freely I live plainly No ambition paves my way No worries weigh me down In the land of the forgotten My sins are passable My desires are mediocre No love ties me down No pain marks my brow In the land of the forgotten I am first I am only No crowds to trouble No tears to squander In the land of the forgotten My name is blameless My heart is untouched No risks taken No battles won In the land of the forgotten I am too safe I am too whole No nightmares haunt me No sadness wanting In the land of the forgotten My sight is short My memory vague No dreams prompt me No recollection of my fall In the land of the forgotten I am lonely I am small No success No happiness I know nothing at all
