If you want to be noticed, do something wrong.
On the freeway,
someone always sees
when you yell at your kids,
or pulls up parallel
when you pick your nose.
They glare when you answer your cell,
honk when you apply lipstick,
flash lights when you go too slow,
wave one-fingered when you snatch
the last fries from the bottom of the bag.

But let tears run clear to your chin—
no one notices.
