POLITICIANS  AGAINST CONTRACEPTION

It's the 21st century!  Why in hell, maybe that's where they are, do the Republicans want to get into the vagina and uterus of women?

The rights of women and men to use contraceptives to plan the size of their families is a right.  When I married in 1960, I was thankful that I had that right albeit, there were only three ways to do it:  total abstinence from intercourse with my new husband, or try the 'rhythm method' like Catholics did by guessing when I might not get pregnant, or use the diaphragm which was a round glove to be inserted into the vagina before there might be the possibility that my new husband wanted to have sexual intercourse.  It was uncomfortable. Yuk!

Only total abstinence from sexual intercourse was a sure method.  As for the rhythm method, even the scientific information that served as guidance for guessing wasn't accurate or understandable.  And, a diaphragm might have a pinhole in it, use of the messy vaginal cream was 'yuk', also, it was dangerous if left in too long.....so, jump out of bed after the first kiss and run to the bathroom, add the cream to the rubber "mat", stoop down and insert it carefully or there could be leaks around it.  YUK!

Then, God blessed women by the scientific medical invention of the PILL.  The pill was used not only for avoiding pregnancy, it also is a medical medication for women with hormonal problems.  (like many medications today address men's problems with low testosterone and related problems).

The Catholic men and women have quit guessing that the rhythm works for determining the size of their families.  Catholic women, 99%, now use some form of contraception.

Sure, some girls under age eighteen are now using contraception to avoid pregnancy.  While not desirable by the larger society, at least those sexually active adolescents won't get pregnant and then face the many problems that having a child so long before marriage, means.

I don't like abortion. However, I'd rather have a teenage girl have an abortion legally instead of being butchered illegally.  I don't like that some women have an abortion just because they don't want another baby.  But, I stand strong for their right to decide what to do with their own bodies and life.

The horror of the words that Republican politicians are saying and the laws that they are passing in Virginia and other states are so dreadful.  Voters must stop them at the polls before they get into bed with every married couple in America.

Now, the archaic Republicans and their "I'm right with God" supporters want to stop the use of contraceptives, family planning and women's health.

The most horrible is their determination to have women's vagina probed without their or their doctor's consent.  To do that, the Republicans are asking doctors to 'commit rape' as rape is defined by the FBI.

Vote NO against every Republican this year and tell your Baptist, Pentecostal, and all the other so called Christians who want to interfere to Vote NO against the Republicans this year and every year that they try to interfere in the right of any woman or couple to use contraception practices, including the hormonal pill.

Women are not the government's property like cattle were my grandfather's property.  The government has no right getting into women's bodies but my grandfather did have the right to penetrate his cows with a metal probe to verify that they had a baby calf inside. Stop the ugliness of the Republicans...Vote NO against them.

NOTE TO A REVIEWER:  Thank you for your read and review.  I addressed the Virginia bill in "Stay out of my vagina" piece...NEWS: because so many women arrived at the Virginia statehouse yesterday, the Governor who wants to be the next US Vice President, did not sign the bill into law that would require doctors to use a probe put into women's vagina without allowing her to sign a consent form to allow it legally.  He sent it back to legislature who will vote on it again next year.  The FBI definition of rape:  intrusion into a vagina or other part of the body WITHOUT consent.

I guess what I'm writing now during the Republican Party's primary election is 'ranting' and since I have Writing.Com as a place to speak my piece and have someone read it, I've gone beyond my normal positive writing.  Anyone who is listening to the Republican candidates and what Republicans in Congress aredoing, knows there are some horrible, antiquated attitudes expressed.  Now its goal is to stop the use of birth control, contraceptive methods.and, even breast cancer xray services.  That fight was fought last century and before.  I am so discouraged at hearing such ugliness that I've wrote...and as in a 'rant', I don't go into detail about the imformation that would better clarify why I say what I write...I guess sometimes, I think my readers are also listening to the US news and Republican remarks.  I'm in error, yes.  Pardon me.
