“I can’t deal with this right now.”

“You can never deal with anything when it doesn’t suit you.”

“That’s unfair.”

She sighed, turning her attention to the floor.

“Look,” my hands shot up in surrender, “I’m trying, okay? I’m trying to keep what’s between us peaceful.”

“No, you’re trying to keep it contained. How do you expect for something to grow when you keep it in a box?"

“Is that what would you think of us?”

“Yes.”

I grabbed my coat off the chair.

“I can’t do this with you.”

“That’s alright. I’m used to you walking out by now.”

She turned her back on me before I could get my coat on. I heard the bedroom door slam, my eyes shutting tightly with it.
