Lost In A Dream

Lost in a dream,
Unsure what it means,
Walking alone,
A dark and dusty road,
The scars they hurt again,
Wounds of the past erupt in pain,
The sun slumps in defeat,
Leaving me with my horrors to face the heat,
Killed me with the words,
Defeat cutting me with its sword,
Time and again,
I recall that it is in vain,
The nightmare unfolds,
To mysteries still unsold,
I look up and smile,
At the words that took my life.
