For once I'll stand here and listen
Even though you have nothing good to say. For once I'll stay where I'm supposed to And I'll let you have it your way. I'll hold back my tears, When you point out every flaw. Just like a statue holds its ground. When attacked with all wrong. I'll let you speak your mind When your words shove down my throat. Like a statue, I won't move When I suddenly start to choke. I'll force myself to listen, When what you say is wrong. Like a statue, I'll silently stay, Where he's told he belongs.
