The Red-Tailed Hawk/The Robin
by oldhat
Rated: E | Poetry | Environment | #1853990
A brace of Triolets from my aviary.
The Red-Tailed Hawk on chimney vane
erect surveys his field below;
with silent visage of the plain
The Red-Tailed Hawk on chimney vane,
unruffled, needing to obtain
a glimpse of movement in the snow---
The Red-Tailed Hawk on chimney vane
erect surveys his field below.

The Robin, harbinger of spring
returns year after year to nest;
when autumn's cold North-West wind sings'
the Robin, harbinger of spring
flies south and with its family brings
a sweet song note to those so blest---
The Robin, harbinger of spring
returns year after year to nest.
