Racism is still alive and well in this sonnet
The Abyss

On the edge of the dark opening, unfurled
Teetering back and forth on the tiny ledge
Not wanting to slip on the slippery edge
Also not wanting to stay in this hard world
It has gone too far down into the dark hell
Fear is used as a derisive vile tonic
So many are divisive and moronic
Cruel racism is still so alive and well
Disguised but not too veiled, so sadly amiss
We do need our great Lord more now than ever
Slay the racists who think that they are clever
Toss them quickly into the gaping abyss
Most of the simpletons, we will never miss
I wish I could deliver the last death kiss
