Kony 2012 Response
The other day I saw the Kony 2012 video and this is my response. |
| A young poets response to Kony 2012 The other day I watched Kony 2012 on youtube.com and I found that the people of the U.S. are going out of are ways to get into the affairs of other nations yet again. This issue should not be up to the U.S. to solve WE as a country should not be taking responsibility for every warlord that pops up across the globe. If I remember correctly the world has a group that helps solve issues like this. It’s called the UN. the people who want U.S. to fix the problem are not the ones who are going to be fighting to eliminate the issue. If you ask me you don’t get rid of a warlord by making him famous or by capturing him. You get rid of a warlord by killing him and all of his officers. The metaphorical snake that the head needs to be removed from. If you want Joseph Kony gotten rid of than don’t run around posting pictures and handing out bracelets and making him famous, you hire or order someone to kill him and all of his officers. Really it’s simple, one, find were Kony is, two, call an air-strike, three, send in a mop up team, kill any surviving officers, four, reveal to world Kony is dead, five, tell people to remove posters. Problem solved. The hardest part of said plan would be finding him because it is not hard to hide hundreds of people in the woods or savanna. We have the technology to find him. Why don’t we let the UN use it, instead of throwing thousands of dollars worth of equipment into this project that we will probably just waste along with American lives. -Dempsey C.
