Spider
by Steve
Rated: E | Poetry | Nature | #1858418
I am repulsed by spiders. Whether or not this is rational is beneath my concern.
Ugly evil spider,
hanging on your string.
Why, are you so eerie
you wicked, little thing?

You come into my house
and loiter on my walls.
When I come to get you
away the demon crawls.

Always, I can’t reach you;
ne’er more vital has it been…
When I pinch you in a tissue,
I keep you from my skin.

You’re not like other crawlies;
you’re horrid and you’re vile.
Notions of your company
won’t likely make me smile.

Oh! how I’d like to crush you
by hammer or with brick,
But cleaning nasty smears up,
it nearly makes me sick.

I squirt poison in my corners,
douse baseboards day to day.
Listen here! you nasty spider;
won’t you please, please go away?
