The Hope and Fear Outside
A trippy poem about hope and fear and moving beyond what holds me here. |
-The Hope and Fear Outside- by Keaton Foster Beyond these walls Devoid of these confines A kingdom of life awaits Mine for the taking Mine for the understanding An infinite realm of knowledge Spreading out in all directions An impossible wilderness of ideas Ideas not yet had by me Colors as sharp as razors Matter in every conceivable shape Liquids forming winding shapes I have never been out there Reality has always been unclear From such sadness, I must step clear Beyond the normalcy of predictable insanity Beyond the caustic nature of my affliction Into a world of endless aberrations That will dare not cater to my masochism The hope and fear outside Is quantifiably less than the reality quite near I must go, I must advance to survive The stagnant nature of my existence Has left me with little to no decisions All people, most of all me Reach a point where choice is wiped clean And changed is forced down upon us Like the heaviest of stone Crushing our irrational ideals Allowing us to see with absolute clarity The hope and fear outside Exist so that we can live beyond What we keep deep inside… The Hope and Fear Outside Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
