Dear Agony
Rated: E | Poetry | Adult | #1860971
A odd poem about change and doing my best to understand where my old life has gone.

Dear agony
Where have you gone
Why have you left me so alone
Trapped within my skin and bones
The misery you brought
The predictable nature
Of your daily onslaught
Offered me comfort
Within the certainty of our predicament
Now you are gone
The blackness of my life undone
By the brightest of the sun
Burning in a clear blue sky
My life has gone from a nightmare
To pseudo fairytale
People confess their love for me
They adore my presence
And honor my existence
With a crooked smile I reciprocate
Inside my head I scream of ridiculousness
They have no clue of my truth
They are such oblivious bastards of intent
They lead with an open heart
Wake up each new day with eyes open wide
They see the world in colors and hues
Not darkness and reality based truth
I feel equally more sorry for them
Then I do myself
Dear agony
Where have you gone
Why have you left me so alone
Trapped within my skin and bones
How can I live as is
This new world is quite strange
A place that I cannot get myself to believe
These people who exclaim such change
And a better way of getting
From one second to the next
Are unlike you and I
In every conceivable way…
