Will We Ever Be Again
A somewhat religious poem about life and asking a question that many wish to know. |
-Will We Ever Be Again- by Keaton Foster God in Heaven To you I pose A most sincere Seemingly dire question Will we ever be again Or is this life That we are living Simply all that is. For the longest time I have washed my hands of you And the plight of my species I couldn't have cared less But now that I am near death Now that I must face All that is coming next A renewed sense of what if Has hit me in the head Like a bag of bricks. The curious nature of such insight Is not because I am afraid Of the choices that I have made Or because I am concerned With regards to my soul I am sure all that has been And all that I have done Has secured my place Within the depths of the end. Whatever you deem right I will gladly accept as such I am not seeking Forgiveness or atonement I am not professing my love Or screaming of my lack thereof I am only asking a question A detailed human introspection Set outward for others benefit from. The answer to such an innocuous Question as the one that I am posing Is a universal need that others Have long since expressed Dare I say that I have the balls to ask While others seemingly neutered refuse. Crush me under you thumb Destroy me and all that I live Do what you must, what you dare But before that, please the answer Unequivocally stated with clarity Will we ever be again If you please God, answer If not for me then for them… Will We Ever Be Again Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
