The Dance
Rated: E | Poetry | Entertainment | #1863218
Sometimes you do get a second chance. A minute poem style.

The Dance

You asked me if I'd dance with you.
So impromptu.
I was surprised
and realized.

You were a lover from my past,
another caste.
We danced as one,
my heart was won.

We took an oath to never part,
my new sweetheart,
who gave to me
love's guarentee.

This is a minute poem form. It has 12 lines of 60 syllables written in iambic meter.
It has 3 stanzas of 8,4,4,4 syllables for each stanza.
The rhyme scheme is aabb, ccdd, and eeff.
I did submit this poem before 11:59pm of 4/22/12 Texas time. The time for the site is one hour ahead. But I understand for contest purposes, I must use their time.
