The view from a local 'hill'.
Green tops poke into the sun,
Hoping to catch a glimpse,
Of this mornings beauty,

                                      Golden fields lie beneath,
Crisp and fair hiding,
Mice and rabbits within,

                    Clear water, snaking through
Cleaving the landscape in two,
Light dancing off its surface,

              Red rock, hard and bare,
Seeming out of kilter,
With the world about,

Pale me, rooted to the rock
Just as out of place as it,
Viewing nature through
A small keyhole.
