Nick and Penelope left the house and walked to where her car was parked. She let him open the door for her, and she hopped in behind the wheel and strapped the seatbelt on before waving at her parents with a big smile.

“So what do you think of my parents?” she asked as soon as he got into the car.

“Your dad’s an asshole and your mom’s a bitch,” he unapologetically remarked.

Penelope punched him in the shoulder. “Those are my parents you are talking about, mister.”

He shrugged. “Well they must have done something right, because you turned out awesome,” he said.

That made her smile and she high-fived him, which wasn’t easy to do in a sub-compact German automobile.

“It wouldn’t bother you to have them as in-laws?” she asked.

“I’m dating you, not them,” he responded. “Why? We getting hitched?”

“Who the hell would want to marry you, Einstein?” she snapped.

“I can think of one sweet lady that might,” he responded with a smug smirk.

“Yeah?” she said, tilting her head with a big sweet smile on her face.

“Yeah,” he nodded. “That girl I knew in Cleveland...”

“What?” she barked, as she started to hit him. Her jealous demeanor broke down as she started to laugh, and he tickled her in revenge while she was trapped in place by the seatbelt. She squirmed around wildly. “You never told me you’ve been to Ohio!” she shouted.

Rufus and Corina Sorenson watched them fight in the car, and were delighted as they witnessed their daughter hitting him. “Oh look, they are arguing over us,” Corina remarked gleefully.

“Well done,” Rufus remarked.

“Wait, what are they doing now?” she asked.

Mr. Sorenson leaned in towards the car and squinted. “They’re at it again,” he muttered. “Kissing.”
