My Love and Romance Poems
Rated: E | Poetry | Romance/Love | #1869393
A growing collection of all my poems that has a love and romantic ambience to it
THE DAY I MET YOUR EYES
I hope our love will always remain, whether in good health or deadly pain

It was the day that I met your eyes
That I knew you were a gift from the skies
That special day where my eyes met yours
And I opened my heart’s broken doors

So here I stand before you my love
As I always kept you safe from above
I’m a man of the old traditional way
Where the lady always has the first say

Since the beginning that hath always been true
Came a call from my heart beckoning for you
That I had this pure felling from deep inside
That destiny had planned our imminent collide

I care not whether it be day or blessed dark
You were the angel that blessed me to hark
I care not whether it be dusk, noon or dawn
As my love for you has been drawn

But I then had to discover the bitter truth
That I was a misinformed and unworthy youth
And I had realised that we had gone all too far
But how could I not love you for who you are

It was the day that I met your eyes
Now I wonder if we’ll have real goodbyes
Because nothing will ever be the same
Because you were the fuel to my heart’s flame
Now I don’t know what else to do
Because I just can’t stop loving you

JOURNEY TO THE HEART
I vowed to search for my holy grail, and its sacred halls unveil

I write to the world to find that one
Whether it be under stars or the sun
I aim to find my heart’s true desire
The one to fuel my heart’s burning fire

She must be noble, warm and kind
Yet this task: a rose in the desert find
She must be opposite, but also same
And unique by her living name

Someone who opposes greed and lust
Someone whose love will never rust
Someone who is always to my right
Someone who follows in the light

Though I may fall into deep depression
My fallen economy will grow from recession
And our love will a noble city construct
Where despair and sloth we will deduct

I wish for one to never… ever let me down
An angel of hope to erase my troubled frown
Someone of elegant hair and mystical eyes
As though an angel falling from the skies

So I begin that unending quest
To find the one unique in the rest
I will search ‘til days are no more
And I know to seek the uncharted lore
That is the heaven from the world apart
As this is my “Journey to the Heart”

STREET LIGHTS
I was with the girl of my dreams, but nothing is never as it seems

Just me and you, alone at night
Always keeping you within my sight
Your hair swaying in the calming air
Betters me from the screen of despair

I am a man of the old, traditional ways
But at times, I can succumb to laze
I only wish to see your elegant smile
And to keep your purity from dark defile

That moving screen was our night’s fun
Yet it had to end with red water on the son
Then I would keep you from the fear
And replace it with hope’s glowing sear

We then took a drive in my Mustang
And we rode as the roaring rider rang
With all of its power and motorized force
To a place that was pure in source

It was at the midnight summer’s beach
Under the tall street light’s reach
Where I took you to our branded youth
But the healing tides had ruined the truth

There I proclaim to you my eternal love
Under the light of the burning stars above
For you hath been the girl of my dreams
And even though nothing is ever as it seems
I aim to prove myself worthy from deadly sin
And maybe… just maybe… you’ll be my kin

(More is still on the way)
