It Was You
Rated: E | Poetry | Other | #1869924
An example of pre-arts award writing. another poem written about a friend.
It Was You.

It was the clutter,
the no value junk.
It was the dashes of red,
scarf's, boots,
It was the signed shirts,
proudly mounted on the wall.

It was the pictures,
the home movies,
crooked camera angles.
It was the box of old toys,
broken, but memories intact,
ever present.

It was the coke cans,
NEVER cups,
on a crowded desk.
It was the tyre swing,
Rocking, without wind,
on The Cherry Tree.

It was the headphones,
the Cd's and the cassettes,
always mine.
It was the open invitation,
to stay,
one more fleeting night.

It was you.
It's all i have left of you.
I miss you.
