Between the Shadows
A poem about finding your way and accepting your lot...even when life isn't fair. |
| I enter between the shadows and the stones at dawn, when the world is happy and fresh - before the darker days of winter sneak in to make the brightness wither. I follow the path before me and find myself by the river, amongst the snowy, leaden boughs. Like them, I am weighed down, desperate to shed this load. But I know my place - my curse - so my weary shoulders straighten as I nudge my burden into place and carry on once again. (Line count: 19) |
